Interviewer instructions

For each person reported as unemployed on all the seven days of the week the duration of the current continuous spell of unemployment will be recorded against the relevant total line in terms of the specified code.It may be noted that the duration to be recorded will relate only to the present spell. For example, if a person was 'unemployed, say, for two months, then employed for a short period and again unemployed and found so at the time of enumeration, for the purpose of making entry in this column for such a person the latter spell of unemployment need only be considered.
