Interviewer instructions
Column 7: whether having disability?: Whether or not each member of the household has any one or more of the disabilities - mental, visual, hearing, speech and locomotor will be indicated in terms of codes in this column. A person may or may not have any disability. Further, a persons having disability, may have one or more than one type of the five different disabilities under survey. Persons having only one type of disability will be considered as having 'single' disability and for such persons, one of the relevant codes 1 to 5 will be recorded in column 7. Persons having more than one type of disability will be considered as having 'multiple' disability and code 6 will be recorded for such persons. Further, persons having two or more of the locomotor disabilities, namely, paralysis, deformity of limb, loss of limb, dysfunction of joints of limb and others, will also be considered as having 'multiple' disability and code 6 will be recorded for them as well.
