The objectives of the AIDIS remain the same as those of the earlier surveys, namely, to obtain quantitative information on the stock of assets, incidence of indebtedness, capital formation and other indicators of the rural/urban economy which will be of value in developing the credit structure in particular, and will also be required in other areas of planning and development.
