Information about the bathroom facility available to the members of the household will be indicated against item 5 in codes. If the dwelling unit does not have a bathroom in its premises, code 3 will be recorded. On the other hand, if it has a bathroom in its premises but not attached to dwelling unit, code 2 will be recorded. If the dwelling unit has one or more bathrooms attached to the dwelling unit (i.e. with direct access from its rooms veranda or corridor) code 1 will be recorded. If the bathroom is in a structure separated from the main building which also contains rooms used for living purposes, 1 will be the appropriate code. A room used as bedroom, sitting room, reading room, prayer room or dining room will be considered a room used for living purposes. An enclosed area without a roof used for bathing purposes, or any living room / kitchen used for bathing purpose is not a bathroom for that dwelling.
