Overview
The All-India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) was carried out as part of the 48th Round of the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) during January to December 1992. This was the fifth such survey conducted at the all-India level. At present, the decenially conducted AIDIS is the only nation-wide enquiry providing data on household assets, indebtedness and capitalexpenditure.
Objective: The main objective of the AIDIS is to generate reliable estimates on assets, liabilities and capital expenditure of the household sector. The survey provides the details of household liabilities required for the formulation of credit policy of financial institutions and planning for development.
