In order to collect data on out-migration (within and outside the country), information regarding the number of persons who have left the household and gone outside the village / town where the household is residing is to be collected. In case no member has left the household “0” will be recorded. It is important to note that only those persons who were members of the household at the time of their departure and are presently alive and staying elsewhere are to be considered. Persons gone out for purely temporary purposes for short periods, say, for meetings / conferences or official tours or tourism purpose, participation in games, sports, etc. will not be considered. Similarly, who have only moved from one locality to another within the same town / village will not be considered.
