This document is primarily aimed at bringing out the key results of the Survey within a year of the completion of field work of the Survey, as an aid for decision support, policy inferences and analysis. The document is presented in three chapters and four appendices. Following the present chapter (i.e. Chapter One) : Introduction, Chapter Two gives the main features of the survey. A brief summary of the key results of the survey on Land and Livestock Holdings is presented in Chapter Three. Appendix A gives the detailed State-level tables on the key indicators. Notes on concepts and definitions used in this survey have been presented in Appendix B. This is followed by the details of the sample design and estimation procedure adopted in the survey in Appendix C. A facsimile of the schedules of enquiry – Schedule 18.1: Land and Livestock Holdings (Visit-1 and Visit-2) can be seen in Appendix D.
1.5.2 While using the estimates for the some smaller States, the number of sample households as mentioned in Statement 2.1 may be considered first. The state-level estimates based on sample size less than 300 households may be subject to high sampling fluctuations and, therefore, should be used and interpreted with due care. |
