Interviewer instructions

Will be filled in only for the persons who are 'not literate', I.e. those who are having entry '1' in c (6). A person is considered as 'not literate', if he/she cannot read or write. It is, therefore, possible that some of the persons considered 'not literate' can read a simple message in at least one language but cannot write. It is to be ascertained from those with code '1' in c (6) as to whether they can read a simple message in at least one language. If the answer is in affirmative, code '1' will be entered in c (7). Otherwise, code '2' is to be recorded.
